Oncology Massage Curriulum A multi-disciplinary team, consisting of patients, medical/clinical staff, massage schools, research, NHS policy and cancer support centres, is being established to design and implement an oncology massage curriculum in Scotland. Our name is the "Iris Cancer Partnership (ICaP)" According to Cancer Research UK “A third of the population will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Up to a third of people with cancer will use complementary therapy at some time during their illness.” This means that many massage therapists will have clients who have or have had cancer. The curriculum will be multi-level to allow massage therapists choice, as part of their CPD, to train to the level appropriate to the environment in which they typically work. |
Iris Massage Venture The Venture provides gentle massage therapies to support people with cancer, usually once treatment has ended. There are no fixed charges, therapies are provided in return for a donation to Scottish charities that support people with cancer. 100% of funds you donate you give directly to this year's chosen charities.

IrisCancerZones IrisCancerZones started with personal tips, useful products and amusing anecdotes shared between two sisters who were diagnosed with breast cancer within a few months of each other. The goal is to allow those of us who have experienced cancer or cancer treatments to share little sound bites of short and easy to reference information, for those days when you don't want to spend hours searching and reading on the internet. |
Iris Week Iris Week's goals are to raise money for a national charity that supports those with cancer, while also raising awareness of oncology massage. This fund raising event was established in 2009 and offered gentle comfort oriented massage in locations across Scotland to anyone who has experienced cancer, including carers, anyone working in the area of cancer care and massage therapists. |
